Le Hameau des Alpes has launched a brand-new activity dedicated to families: Le Hameau des Petits.

Each week, special time slots are designed for young children to explore nature and local heritage through games and hands-on activities. By playing, touching and experimenting — in short, by truly having fun — children discover the mountain world in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

Designed for little adventurers aged 18 months to 8 years, it’s also a lovely opportunity for parents and children to share quality time together.

The La Clusaz aquatic centre

Recently renovated, the La Clusaz Aquatic Centre offers modern facilities suitable for all ages. The large heated outdoor pool allows you to swim comfortably even in cooler weather, while the smaller indoor pool is particularly well suited for young children and relaxed family time.

The centre also features several wellness facilities:

  • Bubble loungers and bubble benches
  • Massage jets
  • Swan-neck waterfall feature
  • Bubble plate

These facilities allow you to alternate between swimming and relaxation. The aquatic centre is therefore a practical and comfortable option when the weather doesn’t allow you to fully enjoy outdoor activities.

Spa and cosy atmosphere at Hôtel Beauregard

After a year of renovation, Hôtel Beauregard has reopened with a completely redesigned atmosphere.

Warm interiors, a fireplace corner, soft materials and subtle lighting all create a setting dedicated to relaxation. The cosy bar and fireplace provide the perfect place to enjoy a drink and unwind, especially when it’s raining outside.

The hotel’s new wellness area is open to everyone — even to guests who are not staying at the hotel. A sauna with panoramic views over the Aravis mountains, a hammam, an indoor pool and treatments by Phytomer and Alpeor await for a well-deserved cocooning break.

To round off the experience, the hotel’s restaurant, Chez Gaston, serves generous Savoyard-inspired cuisine, ideal for ending the day on a comforting note.

Bowling and cinema : reliable favourites

If you’re wondering what to do in La Clusaz when it rains, the Beauregard immersive space is an original activity not to be missed.

Located at the Beauregard lift station, this immersive and interactive venue offers a captivating audiovisual experience centred around the world of the mountains. Two different sound and light shows are presented consecutively, with a total running time of around 27 minutes, combining art, emotion and the discovery of Alpine landscapes.

Access is included in many lift passes (day, season or stay passes), and the entrance is located before boarding the Beauregard gondola.

La Clusaz ice rink : a great option even in bad weather

The La Clusaz ice rink remains a must-do activity, especially popular with families. What really makes it stand out, however, are the special sessions organised throughout the season.

Family sessions : in the morning, the rink is dedicated to families and younger children. Educational equipment is available to ensure everyone can skate safely, including balance supports, skating aids and areas designed for beginners.
It’s the perfect option if you’re looking for what to do in La Clusaz when it rains with children, in a relaxed and reassuring atmosphere.

What if the rain became an excuse to treat yourself ?

In La Clusaz, rain may change the pace… but it doesn’t spoil the experience. It simply invites you to slow down, warm up and enjoy the village in a different way.

We won’t go over the classic Savoyard specialities again — fondue, raclette, tartiflette… Here, melted cheese is enjoyed in any weather ; there’s no need to wait for a rainy day to indulge!

However, when the sky turns grey and the air feels cooler, you might crave something softer and simpler: a gourmet break between activities, an impromptu afternoon treat, a hot coffee while watching the rain fall over the chalets.

And that, too, is part of a holiday in La Clusaz.

hot drink latte

Our favourite cosy spot: a crêpe (or a chai latte) at Le Bélier

Just opposite our agency, there’s a place we like to visit between appointments, after a property viewing or simply to take a short break: Le Bélier.

What we especially enjoy on rainy days :

  • A warm and generous savoury galette
  • A comforting sweet crêpe for an afternoon treat
  • A chai latte or hot chocolate enjoyed indoors

No, it’s not only because it’s just across from the agency that we’ve made it our regular spot! It’s mainly because it’s a reliable favourite, appreciated by both locals and visitors.

And in the end, when you’re wondering what to do in La Clusaz when it rains, the answer can sometimes be very simple: slow down, get cosy, share a crêpe… and fully enjoy the moment.
